“Y Las Montañas Se Moverán…HEY! HEY!”

Many of the music selections prepared for the mission trip include hand gestures and dancing. These movements are helpful in stirring up excitement in the songs and demonstrating the meaning of the words as we minister to the children and youth of the villages. They bring about a spirit of enthusiasm and praise.

One of our favorite songs is El Granito de Mostaza (The Mustard Seed). The song reinforces the message Jesus taught us in Matthew 17:20: “For truly, I say to you, if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you.” So, that’s what we do during the song…We move!!!

As we minister to the people of Guatemala, our hope is to encourage them in their faith, and let them know that nothing is impossible if you have faith, even the size of a mustard seed. Hopefully they will be moved not only through physical movements, but also in their spirituality.
