Since 1988, men, women and youth, ages 16 and over from Prince of Peace have experienced a profound, one-week cross-cultural experience with the Mayas who live in the mountains of Guatemala. Mission travel teams share simple Catholic faith and life skill lessons with our Guatemalan neighbors.

This mission outreach work is unanimously endorsed by Prince of Peace’s Pastoral Council, a parishioner group that counsels the pastor. It also supports Pope John Paul II’s call for Global Solidarity and direct interaction with and response to the needs of our neighbors down south.  The purpose of mission teams traveling to Guatemala is two-fold:

1)     To teach the indigenous Mayas the Catholic Faith, through mutual sharing and cross cultural exchange.

2)     To involve the entire Prince of Peace Parish in mission work through Eucharistic Adoration prayer support.
